This role is based in Amandelbult
- Follow work instructions and orders
- Daily inspection of loco and allocated hoppers, take necessary action for problems
- Battery fitment and ensure charging of replacement battery
- Minor servicing of loco
- Load hoppers from box fronts to given priorities
- Deliver and unload hoppers to ore/waste passes
- Deliver and unload materials and equipment to instructions
- Apply recognized work, operations and safety standards and participate in weekly safety meetings
- Ensure that tasks are completed to required quality standards
- Ensure that the loco is maintained according to set schedule
- Identify actions that could prevent and improve safety and work performance and report any safety related grievances or issues to the full time safety rep
- Ensure that any allocated support works together as a team while completing tasks
- Promote safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
- Support logistics/operational team members if and when they require help
- Help engineering employees to maintain equipment
- Effective two way communications with team members
- Grade 10 Numeracy and Literacy.
- Grade 12 certificate will be advantageous
- Passed Loco Driver Training Module
- Competent B
To be successful, you will have the following experience:
- At-least 1 – 2 years’ experience as Loco Driver / Operator
- Pass relevant dover assessment
- Pass medical fitness assessment
