Requirements
• A BSc / BTech in Chemical / Civil Engineering or other
relevant qualification.
• Registration or eligibility to register forthwith with the
applicable professional body (e.g. ECSA) required.
• Proven track record of working within a municipal wastewater
treatment environment.
• Proven track record of working within a structured quality
management environment.
• A minimum 8 years’ combined experience with wastewater
treatment and wastewater process operation, Green
Drop program / audit experience, health & safety as well as
maintaining an Integrated Quality Management System in a
related field.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable national
and local government legislation relating to the municipal
water and sanitation business.
• A valid Code B driver’s licence
Key Performance Areas
• Developing, implementing, maintaining and continuously
improving an Integrated Business Improvement and Quality
Management System.
• Utilization, productivity and performance management of
personnel within the Section.
• Budget preparation and management.
• Project and contract management.
• Stakeholder engagement and Service Level Agreements.
• Operational data management.
• Safety, Health, Environment, Risk incl. Hazard Identification
and Risk Assessment.
• Green Drop management
• Regulator liaison.
• Applying for, reviewing, amending, maintaining, and
monitoring for all licenses and permits issued to treatment
works by the respective Regulator.
