Full Programme Manager Job Description :-
CHoiCe Trust, a NPO serving as a Sub-Recipient to NACOSA for the implementation of the
AGYW programme, funded by Global Fund, is recruiting key positions for this work in
Polokwane sub-district, Limpopo Province. The My Journey programme provides a
comprehensive package of health, psychosocial and empowerment services for Adolescent
Girls and Young Women (AGYW), supporting them to make informed choices and reduce their
risk of HIV infection, ensuring access to youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health
services.
As part of this initiative, CHoiCe is recruiting dedicated, community-focused individuals who are
passionate about supporting young women and promoting health and wellbeing. This includes
a My Journey Programme Manager.
The Programme Manager is responsible for providing oversight and strategic management for
the programme in Polokwane Sub-District through implementation of the comprehensive
package of services for AGYW, in line with the NSP and Provincial Plans. This includes the
achievement of set targets, managing team members and monitoring of budgets. The Manager
must ensure that there are quality services provided to the identified beneficiaries towards
ensuring improved health, education and social development of AGYW in the programme. He
or she must also ensure appropriate networking and relationship building within the Capricorn
Districts and work with peers within CHoiCe to ensure consistent application of the NACOSA
programme principles and standards. The Manager must represent CHoiCe in relevant
meetings. In addition to AGYW programme, the Manager will also be required to support with
management contributions of other projects within CHoiCe.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
The appointed individual is expected to have the following experience and qualifications:
– Public Health Degree or other relevant degree
– Knowledge of the health and development sector
– Experience in working in the AGYW field
– Experience in working with Global Fund supported programmes would be an advantage
– Experience in managing teams
– Experience in the health sector
– Training and facilitation skills
– Excellent written English skills
– Driver’s license, ability to drive and own vehicle would be advantageous
The Programme Manager must be passionate and compassionate, with a commitment to the
provision of services for AGYW. He or she must work well with people, both external
stakeholders and within a team, must be goal-oriented, and deadline driven. The individual must
be able to advocate on behalf of AGYW – with perseverance, assertiveness and tenacity. They
must have good observation skills and be able to innovate and plan around the best interests of
this group.
Responsibilities include:
1. Achievement of project targets
2. Quality of services provided
3. Management of implementation team
4. Effective resource management in project
5. Adherence to donor requirements and timelines
